The level of benefit you receive from an unemployment insurance fund (“a-kassa”) depends upon:
- the number of hours worked,
- your average income from working (includes also from any voluntary income insurance),
- the number of hours per week you can and want to work,
- the number of hours per week you are unemployed.
There is both a minimum and maximum limit to the daily allowance available. Unemployment benefits are taxable and are counted as pensionable income. Limits for your daily allowance are set by the government and cannot be altered by an unemployment insurance fund.
